Last month, members of EBG’s product team jetted off to New Orleans, Louisiana to participate in the annual U.S. Travel Association’s International Pow Wow (IPW), which took place from June 18-22.
Our team looks forward to the conference each year because it is a great opportunity to meet and connect with current partners as well as cultivate new relationships that help grow our business. Longstanding, mutually beneficial partnerships are the backbone of our operation and the key to its success.
As a result of strong partnerships, members of our Corporate Programs Division, which includes TicketsatWork, Plum Benefits, and Working Advantage, as well EBG’s network of public websites, are able to enjoy an extensive collection of exclusive discounts to the best theme parks, hotels, attractions, shows, events, tours and other entertainment and travel offers around the country.
Guests took a much-needed break from the busy conference on Monday, June 20 for a Mardi Gras-themed party hosted by EBG to celebrate the dedication and commitment of our amazing partners. The event took place at The Ritz-Carlton New Orleans, where guests took in culinary delights, specially crafted cocktails and dazzling jazz music.
Thanks to our partners at City Sightseeing New Orleans, guests were transported from the Convention Center to The Ritz Carlton on a double-decker bus where they had the opportunity to take in the sights and sounds of the high energy, vibrant city. As guests walked into the intimate French Quarter Bar, the spirit of The Big Easy was more evident than ever. With floor-to-ceiling glass French doors that showcased stunning panoramic views of Canal Street and a mix of sweet and sultry melodic harmonies by a live jazz trio – comprised of a clarinet, banjo and sousaphone, the bold, distinct flavors of New Orleans were present throughout the entire evening.
Nearly 300 people attended the event, where they indulged in local cuisine ranging from delectable hors d’oeuvres like creole tomato bruschetta, pecan-crusted chicken and mini lump crab cakes to mouth-watering smokehouse BBQ selections including smoked BBQ beef brisket, BBQ pulled chicken sliders and Kansas City-style pork ribs. But the real stars of the night were the french fry and ice cream bar stations. Guests were able to enjoy their choice of creamy cheese fries, poutine fries, truffle fries or Sriracha ketchup fries, and for those with more of a sweet tooth, house-made ice cream flavors such as bourbon praline and French vanilla bean that could be sandwiched between a choice of fresh-baked cookies were up for grabs.
What’s a party without a photo booth? Mardis Gras-themed props including colored wigs, masks, and hundreds of sparkly beads were tossed around as guests posed for silly pictures in EBG’s photo booth. The instant shots made for the perfect keepsake to take home or share with co-workers at the office as a way to remember the evening and the spirit of New Orleans.
The fun-filled celebration made for the perfect setting to mix and mingle with our business partners outside of meetings. We are thrilled and fortuntate to be able to work with world-class travel and entertainment partners, and look forward to each and every opportunity we have to thank them for all their support.
Cheers to a great IPW 2016! We look forward to IPW 2017 in Washington D.C.
